We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join our Theatres team. As a Theatre Support Worker, you will be responsible for preparing theatres for surgery including the cleaning of theatre and recovery areas, collecting and escorting patients for their surgeries and maintaining appropriate patient records.

This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker who hasexperience working within Operating Theatres or a Decontamination Unit, and a demonstrable ability to build a rapport with patients in a short period of time.

Working hours will be 4 days per week Monday to Saturday 07:30 18:00. You will work 1 Saturday per month.

Role Responsibilities

As a Theatre Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Stocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
  • Collecting and escorting the patient, and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
  • Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.
  • Acting as circulating person for the scrub team and within the scope of the role.
