Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies
only
to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job Purpose/About The Role
Unit Coordinators key role is to enable Social Workers and Child Practitioner within the team to spend more time with children and their families by undertaking any tasks that may free them to do so. Unit Coordinators have a critical role in the smooth running of the team and need to be proactive, by thinking ahead of about tasks which may require to be undertaken.
Requirements
- Educated to higher level
- Experience within an administrative role
Responsibilities
The Unit Co-ordinator must be able to
- Prioritise own workload, manage competing priorities and be accountable for achieving targets and deadlines
- Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with service users, colleagues and partners
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage own workload and be accountable
- Ability to tailor communication style to meet the needs of the audience
- Ability to asses information and provide a recommendation based on own judgement
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify and make recommendations on service development issues.
- Ability to utilise a range of IT systems to deliver services.
- Ability to work accurately with financial and numerical information
- Ability to utilise competently, a range of computer systems, including Excel, Microsoft, and Microsoft Teams, D365
- Work accurately within financial processes
- Prioritise own workload, manage competing priorities and be accountable for achieving targets and deadlines
- Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with service users, colleagues and partners
- Minute Taking skills
