To provide support and supervision for patients admitted with Eating disorders and Mental Health needs, working alongside the registered staff to care for these patients recognising their individual needs which includes patients requiring mealtime support or supervision.
An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 1. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate health care assistant to join our team.

You must be motivated and committed to the delivery of high quality care, have a mature approach to your work and have the ability to communicate and work effectively with children of all ages and their families. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide support to the children and families, ideally you will have previous experience working with children and /or previous experience in a health care setting.

Our Health Care Assistants work as part of the multi-professional team caring for patients aged from 0-16 years and their parents/carers.

Our Health Care Assistants;

  • Promote and support registered staff with the physical health, comfort and wellbeing of babies/children/young people, including recording vital signs once competency completed.
  • Support parents/carers to provide babies, children and young people with personal care, where and when required ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained all times
  • To provide support and supervision for patients admitted with Eating disorders and Mental Health needs, working alongside the registered staff to care for these patients recognising their individual needs which includes patients requiring mealtime support or supervision
  • Escort patients from the ward to other departments within the hospital
  • Keep the ward clean and tidy and support with keeping the ward well stocked
