An opportunity has arisen at Rubislaw Place Medical Group in Aberdeen to join the reception/admin team in an established city centre practice with 8,300 patients. The successful applicant will have an excellent telephone manner, keyboard skills and the ability to work in a busy office environment where no two days are the same.
Job Purpose
To assist the doctors in providing the best possible care for their patients. This is to be done by being a helpful, efficient and conscientious member of the team. Duties should be carried out in a responsible manner, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Provide the first point of contact between patient and surgery
Book new and return appointments by telephone or face to face as appropriate
Record patient’s arrival for appointment
Record requests for prescriptions
Produce prescriptions in accordance with practice protocol
Undertake electronic filing of correspondence in patient’s record
Deal with queries from patients, health professionals and pharmacists with support from GPs as required
Record requests for urgent appointments with the triage/duty Doctor in accordance with practice protocol
Record requests for home visits with the triage/duty Doctor and prepare summaries for these
Issue appropriate paperwork to patients wishing to register with the practice in accordance with practice protocol
Photocopy documents and send faxes as required
Log outgoing mail in accordance with practice protocol
Provide admin support in relation to practice recall systems.
In addition to the duties listed, any other relevant task may be requested by the GPs or Practice Manager. A willingness to participate in further training will be required.
Annual Leave 22 days plus 8 days public holidays pro rata
