Job summary

The post holder will be required to become a skilled highly knowledgeable and competent practitioner in the overall assessment and management in the transfer of the critically ill child.

The successful applicant will be employed in a training position working to achieve a master's programme in Advanced Clinical Practice both clinically and academically.

They will work alongside their Medical and ACP supervisors to gain skills and competencies in physical assessment and diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide direct expert advanced clinical care through health assessment, initiation of treatment, formulation and alteration of treatment and monitoring of care programmes
  • To provide effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to a team/ department and ensure the provision of high-quality care to children and families
  • To expand and promote the role of the ACP to underpin the overall care of these patients
  • To act as a designated resource to children and families, and other professionals caring for them
  • To facilitate the development of all team members
  • To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice
