Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Work alongside a clinician in the provision of patient care
Undertake patient centred tasks & record details in patient recordsmeasurement of height & weight
Urinalysis
Measurement of blood pressure, temperature & pulse
Peak flow measurements
Spirometry
Recording of ECGs
Venepuncture
Gather data on relevant patient history & health statusothers as appropriate
24 hr B/P
Diabetic foot assessment
Ear Syringing
Cleaning equipment & undertaking infection control procedures
Assist with the administration & despatch of pathological specimens
Assist with Minor Procedures
Assist with wound care
Assist with Minor Injuries as appropriate
Assist with ordering drugs & other medical supplies
Assist with the display of health promotion displays & leaflets
Clearing and restocking rooms when necessary
Undertake stitch removal
With suitable qualification administer Influenza and Vitamin B12 Injections
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
Undertake miscellaneous administrative & support tasks, associated with clinical activities.
Undertake and assist in audit
Patient notes summarisation
Stock take
Any other delegated responsibility deemed appropriate to the post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join Newtown Medical Practice. Due to a career progression we are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our experienced nursing team to work full time alongside our Clinical Team.
Clinical Team.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will assist the clinical team to deliver safe, high-quality primary care services to our patients. Ideally the candidate would have some form of Healthcare Assistant experience and have the ability to take blood samples. It would be desirable for you to hold a relevant NVQ level 2/3 qualification. Full training will be given.
The surgery is open from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a full time role (37 hours) and we do require the successful candidate to work 5 days per week.
