This post will include holding a clinical caseload within the East team and having oversight of Band 6 OT's in other subteams across the perinatal service as well as driving the development and growth of Occupational Therapy within the Perinatal Team.

The post holder will:
- Develop and oversee the provision of an evidence-based occupational therapy service within defined service areas in collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams, the occupational therapy team and service users within the local service division.
- Ensure the formulation of profession specific highly specialist care and treatment plans.
- Provide professional clinical leadership and quality improvement in the management and co-ordination of the O.T. Service.
- Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcomes. 100% of their clinical caseload will be occupational therapy specific assessment and interventions.
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy input to planning, development and evaluation of perinatal mental health clinical services within designated areas and for defined projects; using specialist clinical leadership skills and knowledge to provide training and consultancy in Occupational Therapy within the specialty area of perinatal mental health.
- Be responsible for supporting and supervising Band 6 Occupational Therapists.
- In carrying out this role the post holder will make best use of the resources available to them in the monitoring of team and individual performance; ensuring that at all times best use is made of health and social care resources to assist recovery and re-enablement.
The North London Partners (NLP) have developed Perinatal Mental Health Services in North Central London across the five boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. The service has been running since 2. The Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS) is a multi-disciplinary community mental health service for pregnant and postnatal women and birthing people with moderate to severe mental illness. The aim of the team is to detect, prevent and treat perinatal mental health problems to improve the experience of pregnancy and the two years postpartum for service users and their families.
The model consists of an Administrative Hub and operates with 3 clinical sub-teams;
-West team (Barnet)
-East team (Enfield & Haringey) &
-South team (Camden & Islington).
Staff work closely with the five maternity sites in North Central London; University College London Hospital, Whittington Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital and North Middlesex University Hospital. Clinics run at maternity sites, children's centres and community centres across the boroughs as well as home visits.
