About The Role


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Through Care Team as a Social Worker.

Hounslow Children’s Services are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic social worker to join our Through Care team. The team works with Looked After Children and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children. We promote relationship-based practice and work with families and other professionals to achieve permanence and support independence. Direct work and hearing the child's voice is essential in our work.



About The Team You’ll Be Working In



The London Borough of Hounslow Through Care Team is a vibrant, dedicated and stable and supportive team with four experienced managers and 15 social workers. Social workers in the team have manageable caseloads that allow them to do meaningful work with the children and young people that we are the Corporate Parent for. The purpose of the team is to achieve permanence for Looked After Children, and promote independence as they grow older. In addition, the team support all Asylum Seeking Young People in Hounslow, including those who are age disputed. The team are also responsible for undertaking age assessments.



About You



  • An individual with an enthusiasm for working with children, young people and their families.
  • A proven ability to assess needs, risks and identify services for children and young people to access.
  • Comfortable working with other agencies and professionals to ensure children and young people’s needs are met.
  • Proficient at different IT system,s verbal and written communication and keeping accurate and timely records.
