University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.
The post holder will manage the operational performance of Community Emergency Medicine Service (CEMs) in the Division of Medicine, the post holder will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating performance and day to day operations of the service. Working closely with the Assistant General Manager and Divisional Management team, the post holder will contribute to the management of community emergency medicine service across the Bristol site. This role includes deputising for the Assistant General Manager as required for the CEMs service.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of performance and governance targets through effective communication and liaison with Consultants, medical, and admin staff across the Trust on a day to day basis.
- Maintain a fully rotational staffing plan for the CEMs within required service levels
To act as point of contact for the senior management team and CEMs clinical leads in reference to the day to day management of the service. Ensure effective delivery of staff training/development, to enable a flexible trained workforce, to meet service delivery challenges.
- Attend and participate in various meetings within the service, Division and Trust.
- To assist the Assistant General Manager in the achievement of all relevant performance and KPI targets, utilising cross divisional resources where necessary. To produce monthly reports outlining service activity and outcomes to be shared with Divisional and SWAST leads.
- Resolve informal complaints and redirect complex issues to the appropriate manager or team. Supporting the CEMs Governance lead in responding to investigations and incidents. To be responsible for ensuring service risk assessments are current and that mitigating actions are taken.
- To facilitate service redesign projects in the Division to improve the quality and timeliness of care.
