Job summaryWe are a friendly, rural Practice looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist with flexibility to offer ad-hoc cover during holidays and work based placements.
Main duties of the job
To assistthe practice team in the delivery of direct patient care, ensuring that patientsafety and well-being is always respected.
Communicatecourteously and effectively with patients, relatives and carer's in the languageof their choice.
Ensurethat the Practice Treatment room is kept clean and tidy and that the equipmentis in working order, clean and available for use.
Carryout health assessments on newly registered patients e.g. testing urine, bloodpressure checks, heights, weights and taking simple medical history.
Report,and document, all matters pertaining to patient care, changes in condition/circumstances, to arelevant member of the nursing or medical team.
Undertakephlebotomy, carry out ECGs, blood pressure checks, INRs, blood glucosetesting, cardiac and ABP monitoring and urinalysis.
Actwith regard to confidentiality and sensitivity of issues relating to patients,their care and treatment.
Recordand document all patient contacts.
Haveknowledge of, and act, within the boundaries of health and safety and dataprotection legislation.
