This is an exciting opportunity to work, as one of two new positions in a new role to establish and deliver a robust surveillance pathway for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) and manage patients with cirrhosis and viral hepatitis. The clinical work will be varied and the main tasks will include:
1. Running cirrhosis clinics, managing an identified caseload of patients
2. Leading the rollout and operation of a call/recall surveillance system for all patients in the department for HCC surveillance and managing data reporting
3.Supervising and supporting the fibroscan service in the local community diagnostic centre (Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton) according to established guidelines
There may also be a need or opportunity to:
4. Support the ODN with viral hepatitis diagnosis, assessment and treatment
Support the fibroscan technicians in the CLHC pilot to identify those with risk factors for cirrhosis including excess alcohol, hepatic steatosis and viral hepatitis and provide post test counselling.
The post-holder will be expected to work autonomously with patients/service users in the St George's University Hospital sites, in the Community Diagnostic Centre at Quenn Marys Roehampton and potentially in a variety of outreach settings to provide holistic care for those tested and diagnosed with cirrhosis and viral hepatitis.
