Join our in-patient unit volunteer team as a Ward Support Volunteer. You will provide companionship to patients, complementing the care provided by our clinical and ward staff. This may include activities with patients e.g. cards , jigsaws, reading and listening to patients, collecting and restocking ward equipment, shopping for newspapers and small items from local shops and signposting patients/carers to the appropriate healthcare contact within St Gemma’s. We are looking for kind, empathetic, warm, friendly individuals with excellent communication skills.

We offer care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and via our day services, which include a Day Hospice and Out-Patient Department.
