Are you an experienced and qualified Nurse or Paramedic looking for a different way to use your skills or are you looking for your first leadership role?

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Safety Navigator (CSN) within our 999 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Crawley, West Sussex.


Main duties of the job


As a first line manager, the post holder will be a focal point for staff; providing advice, guidance, motivation, direction and leadership as well as managing rotas, sickness and welfare issues.

Additionally, the post holder will also be expected to fulfil the duties of a Clinical Supervisor, and be responsible for Call Audit, clinical decision support use, performance management and clinical quality and governance issues relating to their teams.

Clinical Safety Navigators must provide clinical supervision for the NHS Pathways call triage system.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate minimum
6 months experience
of NHS Pathways use, how risk management is stratified in the management of clinical queues, as well as the ability to innovate and respond to the fluid environment of acute care in the EOC setting.

Applicants must also have excellent communication skills that are adaptable to be able to influence and support direct line reports and form an integral part of the EOC team.

Please note, this is a 24/7 role and there is a requirement to work a variety of shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Unsocial hours are payable in addition to the salary quoted, dependent upon working pattern.

Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
