About the Role:
As the Lead Sexual Offence Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in our multidisciplinary team, providing assessments and evidence that inform legal outcomes. Our Examiners are pivotal in ensuring high-quality care and evidential integrity for both children and adults who have been exposed to sexual violence.
To undertake clinical and forensic duties in the Sexual Assault Service, providing an immediate response to Children, Young People and Adult clients, by conducting a forensic medical examination after a sexual assault.
Providing written reports and advice to Police Officers and the SARC teams, Courts and attending Court to provide fact and opinion evidence as required.
Providing leadership to promote the service, undertake governance activities and ensure compliance with the Forensic Regulator supporting New Pathways.
This role is critical in offering dedicated care from the initial forensic examination, as often this is the first step in the client's journey of recovery, influencing both short and long-term health outcomes.
This includes self-referrals, police referrals and referrals from other organisations.

Full-time is a 40-hour work week.Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
The post holder will regularly be involved in communicating internally and externally with Health and Social Care professionals, as well as clients and carers.
Line management of their team will require the ability to create psychological safety within the team, promoting a trauma informed approach, facilitate reflective practice and reflexivity, acting as a positive role model. This includes upholding standards, showing care and compassion, but being able to feedback honestly to ensure competent staff.
The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and will function effectively within the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team, receiving and communicating information regarding clients care, organisational requirements and supervision.
The post holder will have the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable format to clients. Potentially, this may include telephone communication.
