After a successful business case has been approved to invest in a new staffing model within the procurement, homecare and distribution teams this is an exciting time to join the team as the service grows with demand. This is a new post which will work along side the current specialist pharmacy technician post holders in medicines procurement and homecare to lead are pharmacy distribution service. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician to lead the distribution services in addition to providing cross cover to our existing post holders in homecare and procurement. In order to provide a high quality service to our patients and colleagues, the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills with all Pharmacy Staff, suppliers/homecare providers, finance and clinical teams as well as being a proactive in their work. Excellent computer skills and attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently are key aptitudes for this post.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the core pharmacy service including weekend and bank holiday pharmacy service

  • To lead, develop and maintain a working environment which encourages team work, mutual support and excellence in service delivery and reduces risks to a minimum.
  • To work along side the specialist technicians for procurement, and homecare to develop and implement a strategy for improving the skill mix within the stores, distribution and procurement and homecare team.
  • To provide leadership and support overseeing the supply and distribution of pharmaceutical products to the wards, departments, clinics, etc. of Harrogate and District NHS Foundations Trust and community clinics as appropriate.
  • To provide leadership and management to all aspects of medicines storage and distribution from receipt to delivery, in line with Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
  • To ensure the accurate and timely receipt of medicines through “Good In” services to ensure effective and safe storage of medicines.
  • To ensure the efficient management of the Bulk Store facility
