The post holder will work collaboratively across the NHS England matrix, including integrating the National Directors portfolio:

They will lead on driving up standards and ensure high quality service provision is available for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and abuse

To act as a champion for patients and their interests and involve the public and patients in the policy development and decision-making of NHS England.

  • To embed patient and public involvement within NHS England at all levels of decision making and ensure lived experience is at the heart of service development.
  • Working within the overall strategic objectives, devise, implement and monitor the strategy. Evaluate, interpret, and locally implement best practice.
  • Personally lead, support, and contribute to formal negotiations with senior level internal and external stakeholders, providing a high level of negotiating expertise to secure the most advantageous arrangements.
  • Advise on innovative opportunities and support regions in their strategies and programmes to maximise service benefits.
  • To identify and assess opportunities for new services and threats to existing services and market developments.

NHS England are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Sexual Assault and Abuse Services (SAAS) Senior programme manager to join the Health and Justice National Support Team within the Specialised Commissioning directorate on a permanent post.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team within the health and justice integrated adults team

The post holder will take a lead role in providing programme and policy advice across the SAAS pathway

They will also lead and support to the delivery of the transformation of SAAS services.

We are looking for an individual to work as part of the National Support Team the role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery. The role and successful post holder will need to work effectively across external partners and stakeholders

Although this is a national post we will support flexible working but there will be some need and requirement for attendance in both London and Leeds.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering the workstreams required for the implementation of the strategy. Responsibilities include:

Developing, actioning, and maintaining the SAAS workplan and reporting progress to the Deputy Director of integrated adult pathways

Lead the SAAS team, setting and overseeing their programme of work/tasks.

Driving the national workstreams including engaging and collaborating with key strategic partners.

Overseeing and developing the governance around the programme

Leading the process of regional assurance including assurance calls and reports

Supporting regional teams with development of best practice guidance and requests for national guidance

Influencing and engaging with relevant national research

Promotion of the strategy nationally and providing support to regional teams to develop partnership governance arrangements to drive the strategy.

The post holder will lead the provision of an efficient, effective, and high-quality professional and well-co-ordinated programme management approach capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.
