The role is a band 6 in a busy medical assessment unit with an SDEC attached within the unit.
A shift/team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, and developing and evaluating best practice within the department. The post-holder will deputise for the department manager as required.

As a Band 6 you will require to uphold trust values and maintain excellent clinical standards and understand the role that an MAU supports with patient flow through the hospital.Your role will also include mentoring newly qualified staff
- Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies always.
- Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occurs.
- A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development.
- Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated/audited, involving patients. and users
