An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join the Fife Wide School Nursing Service on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

You will work across Fife within a dynamic team of School Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Nursery Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers in a variety of settings including health centres and schools.

If you would like to focus on a person centred care delivery approach to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and families in Fife then we would welcome your application. Experience in supporting children & young people and their families and an awareness of the contemporary school nursing service would be an advantage however is not essential.

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.


NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
