Your role as a Mental Health Support Worker will be delivering quality support that enables people to achieve their outcomes by using and developing person-centred support plans.
An exciting opportunity has become available to work within our growing Onward Service, providing support to clients recently discharged from hospital. We have full-time roles available for Mental Health Support Workers across the West Sussex area.
Due to regional cover you must be a car owner/driver. Travel expenses paid outside of commute.
You will be visiting clients in their own homes, providing support in line with recovery goals identified in partnership with them. We recognise the client is at the heart of our service and each package is tailored specifically to their needs and with their input. We also understand that recovery is subjective and approach all clients with therapeutic optimism.

We provide bespoke, community-based support packages to individuals with complex needs, including a mental health diagnosis and autism spectrum disorder. Our clients may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting.
Your role as a Mental Health Support Worker will be delivering quality support that enables people to achieve their outcomes by using and developing person-centred support plans. You will be able to manage risks and vulnerabilities whilst promoting social inclusion and maximising the opportunities for the people you support.
If you have an interest in developing your skills as a Mental Health Worker or have previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Care Worker, Recovery Worker, or in mental health, apply today!
This role is incredibly rewarding, assisting clients with daily living providing support with planning (meals & shopping for example), attending appointments and community re-engagement. We do not offer personal care and work only with clients on a mental health basis, often with complex needs and/or trauma backgrounds.
Essential Skills
- You should have an enthusiasm and interest in working within the mental health sector
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A willingness to go the extra mile
- You should have a flexible approach that respects individual differences with an ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, using your initiative
- You must have your own transport and licence as you will travel across the region - travel costs are covered under our policy
Desired Skills
It would be desirable for you to have had experience supporting a person(s) with a mental health condition and within a community-based service.
