The Salaried Primary Care Dental Services sits within the Community Childrens and Countywide Care Directorate.
Job summaryWe are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated full time Qualified Dental Nurse to work as part of the team in the HDFT Community Dental Services, the post will be placed on the AFC Band 4 pay scale.
The Community Dental Service is a specialised service that provides dental treatment for children, adults and older people who, because of additional needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities or vulnerability, are unable to access general dental care.
This role is based in Scarborough and the successful candidate will work as part of the East Locality Community Dental Services team and Dental Services General Anaesthetic team at York District Hospital for General Anaesthetic Dental Sessions.
Main duties of the job- Carry out clerical and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic.
- Responsible for ensuring a high standard of infection prevention control is maintained within the dental clinics.

Person Specification Essential Essential - Good general education with skills in written and oral English and basic maths
- NEBDN Certificate and / or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent
- Higher National Diploma level or equivalent experience
- Registered with General Dental Council as a Dental Care Professional
- Experience as a Dental Nurse
- Up to date knowledge in all areas of Dental Nursing
- Competent in basic MS Office and IT Applications
Desirable - Additional Qualifications in one of the following: Sedation, Radiography, Special Care Dentistry, Oral Health Promotion
- ECDL or similar information technology training
- Experience of working with patients with special care needs.
- Experience of previous dental administration
