Band 6/7 Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography. Fixed term (12 month) maternity cover contract (band appointed dependent on experience/qualifications).
We are seeking a dynamic and conscientious echocardiographer to work at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work at the Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew's Hospital located in The City of London, with rotation to one of the other sites within the Trust network and contribute to the weekend working rota on a rotational basis. This role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to a variety of complex cardiac pathologies and clinical situations
To be successful in being appointed to a band 7 post, the applicant must have full BSE/EACVI transthoracic accreditation (or international equivalent) and be able to work independently providing this service. Applicants who have passed the written accreditation exam and are working towards full accreditation may be offered a Band 6 position (the expectation of independent working and weekend rota commitments would not start until full accreditation is achieved).
The department holds dual accreditation with both the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), so this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a competent Echocardiographer with opportunities to progress to training in advanced specialist areas i.e. Cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathy and/or adult congenital.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking individual who will contribute to the cardiac physiology team and echo service.
Furthermore, you will be supported to develop your leadership skills as you supervise and train staff in the performance of their individual roles and give support to senior staff members.
