The Role

NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit an Assistant Respiratory Physiologist. As an Assistant Respiratory Physiologist you will be responsible for assisting clinical physiologists in providing highly specialised physiological measurement service. The principle role of this post is to perform basic diagnostic investigations, sterilisation of equipment and general administrative duties for the respiratory laboratory and to assist in providing technical reports for patients to allow assessment and diagnosis of lung conditions such as COPD and Asthma.

Please Note: This vacancy will be based in University Hospital Wishaw and not University Hospital Monklands as stated on the job description.

What we'll need you to bring

  • SVQ level 3 in Healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
  • To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Working knowledge of Health Board, national and departmental standards
  • Ability to plan and coordinate workflow including emergency provision.
  • An aptitude for planning, prioritising and making fast effective decisions and reporting information effectively
  • The ability to work alone, independently and unsupervised
  • Ability to deal with complex and unpredictable situations
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
