We welcome you to join our friendly ENDOSCOPY team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Sister/Charge Nurse.
Our speciality makes us exciting, ambitious and forward-thinking and we are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, motivated and resilient individual to join our nursing team.
This exciting opportunity will allow the individual to work alongside the Endoscopy managers to provide day to day leadership of the Endoscopy units. You will work as part of our dedicated, hardworking and friendly team in one of our two JAG accredited Endoscopy units within the Trust. Although you will be based on the CDH endoscopy units, you will be expected to provide cross site cover at RPH when needed and weekend GI Bleed rota cover.
We carry out a wide range of both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to both outpatients and inpatients, these include;
Chorley Hospital Procedures Include
- GI procedures including; OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/Breath Tests.
- We work with the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) as part of the team in the north-west.
- Diagnostic bronchoscopies.
Royal Preston Hospital Procedures Include
- GI procedures including; OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/ Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- GI Emergency Bleed rota
- We work with the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) as part of the team in the north-west.
- Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy including: Endobronchial Ultrasound/Trans Bronchial Needle Aspiration (EBUS/TBNA)/Endobronchial Valves and coils and stents/Thoracoscopy/Indwelling Pleural catheter (IPC) placement/Nasal-endoscopy for Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (ILO).
Your role will be to provide day to day leadership of the Endoscopy team (with the Endoscopy manager) to ensure that patients have a positive Endoscopy experience. You will have excellent communication skills, be forward thinking and well organised, with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
