The primary role of this post is to provide a User Account administration function.
Are you passionate about providing good customer service?

Do you share our Trust core values of Kindness, Openness and Excellence?

This is a unique opportunity within an ambitious and influential Trust, seeking to improve experience by delivering first-class services. This position is part of a dynamic IT support service responsible for over 7,000 users and over 3,000 PCs across a network covering Health Service locations throughout our Trust.

The primary role of this post is to provide a User Account administration function. This involves receiving requests for new user accounts and modifications for existing user accounts. You will administer accounts within Windows Active Directory, MS Exchange, our Patient Administration System, and various other applications and databases.

York based

Support requests will include

  • Requests to create new logins
  • Amend access rights and update details on existing accounts
  • Troubleshoot access related problems within key applications
  • Maintenance work - ending accounts/resolving software

Established procedures must be followed for handling routine faults/work requests. The team is enthusiastic and suggestions regarding possible process improvements or resolutions to problems are encouraged.

The successful candidate will have good IT skills, including keyboard skills, and the desire to help our staff maximise their use of our IT systems to assist with patient care.

You should have good listening and questioning skills with the ability to clearly communicate with users and technical colleagues via telephone and e-mail.

You will have the judgement to know when to ask for advice, coupled with a logical approach to problem solving and common sense.

The ability to keep calm and work under pressure is vital to efficiently handle peaks in demand. Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail is as important as the ability to work quickly. Therefore you should be able to prioritise your own workload whilst being aware of the overall demands on the team.

A good understanding of computer accounts (e.g. Windows Active Directory) is desirable, coupled with the ability to quickly learn new systems, concepts and processes.

Candidates should have a good standard of education (i.e. diploma level) and be able to demonstrate competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Experience of working in the NHS and using IT Service Desk call logging systems will be an advantage but is not essential.

If you would like to make a difference and would enjoy working in a small, friendly and supportive team then this is the job for you.
