Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapists to join Rehabilitation and High Support services. Due to recent investment, we have two new posts: Clinical Lead OT for Rehabilitation Services (Inpatient) and Clinical Lead OT for Low Secure and PICU services. You will have leadership, clinical and managerial skills developed through experience and postgraduate training, providing expert knowledge and support to occupational therapy staff to facilitate the delivery of evidence-based rehabilitation and recovery pathways to service users with complex mental health conditions. You will work in partnership with clinical service managers, operational managers, senior OT staff and the Principal OT to ensure a consistent approach to the governance of occupational therapy practice across Rehabilitation and High Support services and the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident practitioner with clinical experience in mental health, an ability to demonstrate high levels of initiative and an interest in further developing their leadership skills. The role will include
  • Providing clinical and management supervision for occupational therapy staff
  • Supporting continuing professional development for occupational therapy staff and occupational therapy learners (students and apprentices)
  • Providing highly specialised assessments and interventions using evidenced based and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
  • Advocating for occupational therapy's role and contribution to Rehabilitation and High Support and Trust wide services.
  • Supporting the recruitment and retention of occupational therapy staff.
