Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton.
On Russell ward, there is an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Support Worker (CSW) to join our team. Russell Ward is a 16 bedded elderly care ward for over 78 years’ old male patients. The ward is classes as a nightingale ward due to its layout: 12 beds on the main ward, two side rooms and a balcony which has two beds. We have a care of the elderly Consultant and his team of doctors who conduct daily ward rounds. The ward staff are split into two teams each day, left side and right side.
Our team is made of a diverse group of highly talented and motivated individuals who are hardworking and always aim to provide excellent patient-centred care. As a CSW, you will be working under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to deliver holistic patient-centred care and working in a multi-professional team.
We are looking for someone with good listening skills, sympathetic nature, excellent communicator and not afraid of hard work. We are all passionate about learning, teaching and development so we will fully support you as you acquired exciting new skills and competencies during your time with us.
Some requirements that will allow you to shine and be successful include:
- 1 GCSE in maths and English language or minimum of Key Skills Level 1 in literacy and numeracy)
- 2 Experience of working with the public and demonstrating strong customer care skills
- 3 Experience of working in a team
To assist in the delivery of patient/client care and participate in the safe and effective management of the nursing services under the supervision of registered nurses and midwives. The Clinical Support Worker will contribute in a variety of activities of patient/client care to the level of experience and assessed competence that he/she has acquired. The patients come from a
variety of cultural backgrounds and the CSW must be able to communicate effectively.
