The Role
The Wellbeing and Support Officer will support, safeguard, enable and champion the success of all students by providing front line and responsive advice, guidance, and referral to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team. They will respond to the needs of students, including providing pastoral care, practical advice, extra-curricular events, and work as part of a team responsible for the first aid provision for their students. The post holder will be personable, highly compassionate, skilled active listener with an interest in wellbeing and education.
This roles purpose is to ensure all students across the EFI Group, including the most vulnerable, make excellent progress both academically and with their social and emotional development. This post is part of the wellbeing team and the wider safeguarding team, they will be first aid trained, DDSL trained, and be prepared for receiving and managing disclosures in line with the EFI Safeguarding Policy.
About You
- You will have a proven track record of operating at a similar role in a comparable environment.
- You will have experience in implementing quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.
- You will have a comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and effective support measures.
- You will be knowledgeable about safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality and diversity issues relevant to this role.
- You will have a good understanding of learner needs and challenges facing young people.
- Strong organisational, planning, time management, and administrative skills is essential for the role.
- You will have the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive outlook.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of people is essential.
- You will have the capacity to build rapport quickly with learners and colleagues to develop positive, cooperative and effective working relationships.
- You will have the ability to listen with understanding and to be able to relate to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in such a manner that will enhance students self-esteem.
