You will be a key senior member of the service supporting the development and functioning of this new service. You will support the Service manager and provide supervision. In this role you will manage your own caseload offering assessments and titrating medication. You will use appropriate diagnostic assessment tools which will support your decision. You will prescribe accordingly, discussing all treatment options, assess effectiveness, potential side-effects and make changes to medication when required. You will assess if the patient has co morbidities which need treatment and signpost to appropriate services. As part of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner role is to supervise and support junior staff. You may also need to offer appointments to complex cases to formalise treatment plans.

We are based in South Staffordshire and most of our work is done remotely but will provide face to face appointments as per patient need.

An opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 x Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioners within our new and developing Adult ADHD and Autism service.

We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioners ideally with experience of working in a community setting. As a registered professional, you will be committed to providing a high-quality service and will support in the development of our ADHD and Autism clinic.

The service will cover the East and West of South Staffordshire offering remote and face to face appointments.

Ideally you will have experience with working with patients diagnosed with ADHD and Autism although appropriate training will be provided. You will be completing ADHD and Autism assessments for diagnosis and initiating treatment.

  • The direct provision of high quality evidence based person-centred physical and mental health care to service users within the adult ADHD service.
  • Providing leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care to the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Facilitating learning through the development and delivery of specialist clinically focussed education and training programmes.
  • Receive patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and make an assessment of their health care needs, based on highly-developed nursing knowledge and skills, including physical examination skills.
  • Plan and coordinate the physical healthcare needs of service users in the community service; including the requirement for annual physical examinations and investigations.
  • Order necessary investigations, and provide treatment and care both individually, as part of a team, and through liaison with / referral to other agencies, e.g. ECGs, Clozaril Bloods.
