To support the Head of Safeguarding and Deputy Directors for Children, Young people and Safeguarding to develop Safeguarding Children Services and meet statutory requirements for Harrogate District Foundation Trust.

Would you like to be part of a fast developing, forward thinking safeguarding service? We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time Named Nurse to join our acute safeguarding children's team. You must be a registered nurse with significant knowledge and experience in safeguarding children and of working in an acute hospital setting.
You will be responsible for providing visible leadership, knowledge and expertise in relation to safeguarding children. You will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, the Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults and the Named Midwife, and with a wide range of multi-disciplinary colleagues, including the wider safeguarding children partnership, to lead our agenda of becoming an outstanding safeguarding services.
To support the Head of Safeguarding and Deputy Directors for Children, Young people and Safeguarding to develop Safeguarding Children Services and meet statutory requirements for Harrogate District Foundation Trust. This will be focused on the Acute setting, but the role will also be part of the wider Specialist safeguarding team.
To work closely with other Named Professionals/ Designated Professionals/ General Managers / Heads of Nursing/ Deputy Directors for children, young people and safeguarding in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its responsibilities in safeguarding children.
To fulfil the role and responsibilities of the Named Nurse Child Protection as detailed in “Working Together to Safeguard Children” (2023), The Children Act (1989 and 2004), and “Safeguarding Children and Young People, Roles and Competencies for Health Care Staff” (2.
The post holder will contribute to local service planning, delivery, redesign and performance management in relation to safeguarding children’s services in the specified area as well as support the wider HDFT footprint.
