Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Spinal- Band 7


North/West Wiltshire


15 hours per week - Permanent

An opportunity is available within the Wiltshire MSK service for a part time Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Spinal predominantly assessing and managing complex spinal patients addition to supporting and supervising band 5 and 6 MSK Physiotherapists. The role comprises of mainly clinical with a focus on clinical working to include clinical triage, complex clinics, audit to support service development and supervision.

The post holder will be able to manage a caseload of complex MSK and orthopaedic patients with previous extensive MSK experience assessing and managing a variety of conditions with focus on Spinal conditions and management.

The successful candidate will work alongside Physiotherapy Head of Service and band 7s across the county to provide high quality, evidenced based physiotherapy and will be specifically involved with facilitating the operational development and delivery of the reset and recovery plan. You will be expected to travel across sites within Wiltshire. A job share can also be considered to accommodate all sites.

It is critical that the post holder develops strong relationships with Band 7s to enable a consistent, high quality service is provided throughout Wiltshire and to share learning and examples of good practice.

Our service is well respected, and we have developed strong relationships with local GP practices, Orthopaedic and Rheumatology consultants, midwives as well as other healthcare professionals. Patients are able to self refer to our service and we have a growing number of First Contact Physiotherapists (FCP), within the GP practices, who also refer patients to us.

We are committed to staff development and support our team with both formal and informal learning, with access to funding for training and courses, including leadership training and MSc modules. Development roles have been developed to enhance career pathways within Wiltshire Health and Care, including FCP, MIU and APP roles.

Wiltshire Health and Care is an NHS partnership formed by the three local Foundation Trusts which serve Wiltshire: Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. We are responsible for the delivery of adult community health services in Wiltshire from July 2until at least March 2025. However this role offers a permanent NHS contract.
