Job summary

The Dermatology nursing team at Birmingham Children's Hospital are seeking a suitably experienced Paediatric nurse to join the team.

In conjunction with other members of the Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) the Senior Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist will enable the development of services for children and young people with Dermatological conditions such as Eczema and Psoriasis, their families and professionals.

You should be able to work autonomously, be enthusiastic and motivated, with a demonstrated interest in Dermatology nursing. You will be able to embrace change and be dedicated to advancing practice through education and leadership.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide expert level of nursing practice for Paediatric Dermatology, using advanced skills to shape and develop high quality care.
  • Support the co-ordination of the Dermatology Nursing team, including staff management and planning service delivery.
  • Participate as part of the MDT in facilitating education to families and professionals.
  • Promote excellence in nursing practice through the delivery of advanced nursing care to children and families.
  • Initiate, monitor and troubleshoot patients requiring systemic treatment for the management of Eczema and Psoriasis.
