The role of the PMA is fundamental to the smooth running of the production office, from arranging prep diaries and meetings, to distribution of all the necessary documents for our shoots to run, this role is in the middle of all the action.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring their knowledge and skills of the role to aide the Production Coordinator and Assistant Production Coordinator effortlessly, moving between the various daily tasks seamlessly.
A fast paced BAFTA winning Continuing Drama about the staff and patients at the Holby City Emergency Department, Casualty charts the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives whilst tackling many controversial and taboo issues. Through great writing and visual flair the show balances gritty realism with high drama to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, week in week out.
Main Responsibilities
You will report to the Line Producer and Production Coordinators.
A Casualty PMA provides administrative support for the production during various stages of the process and is responsible for the smooth running of the production office, acting as a key point of contact whilst always ensuring compliance or escalating any issues promptly.
Your duties will include -
- Support the production with diary and meeting management, booking travel and accommodation, stock ordering consumables for the production office and technical departments and arrange and recording mandatory training requirements
- Attend Production and other prep meetings as required
- Regular/Guest cast liaising, to include arranging travel and accommodation arrangements as required for a shooting block
- Responsible for booking additional vehicles when required for a shoot and keeping on top of legally required checks and maintenance schedules for the production fleet
- Responsible for resolving a range of diverse operational issues within the role, escalating to the Production Coordinator or Production Manager where necessary
- Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment at all times, escalating any issues or areas of concern
- To help maintain all production office functions and systems to include, but not limited to, office equipment and filing systems
- Gather and distribute shoot documents for the production to include shooting schedules, crew, cast and contact lists, ensuring GDPR compliance where necessary
- Assist with the compilation and distribution of the daily call sheets and collate all the relevant information for the daily progress reports
- General office duties, ranging from making tea / coffee to tidying the production office
Are you the right candidate?
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following -
- Experience of providing administrative / runner support within a pressurised TV Drama Production office
- Experience of diary management, arranging travel and accommodation
- Experience of being able to use I.T. systems and adopt new technologies
- Experience of ordering consumables for technical department
- Experience of dealing with actors
- Able to consider and propose new ways of working to improve existing processes
- Accurate and effective written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
- Knowledge of BBC Drama Productions, especially Casualty

Location – Roath Lock Studios, Cardiff Bay
- Please note that this is a standard Studios Production contract and potentially can involve up to 55 hours per week if required**
