An exciting opportunity to join our Surgical Centre Gillingham, Kent in the role of Medical Director has become available.

We are looking for you to bring your clinical expertise and outstanding leadership capabilities to a more progressive and rewarding environment. One where, you'll be heading up a highly professional but friendly and compassionate team at our 'Good' rated Surgical Centre, providing both NHS and private patients with the very highest standards of care.

In what is a highly visible and influential role, you'll provide inspiring clinical leadership to a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined and diverse medical team. You'll champion innovation, nurture a progressive and inclusive culture, and empower everyone who works with us to realise their full potential.

As well as being a key member of the hospital's senior management team, you'll be instrumental in pursuing our continuous improvement agenda. And, working in partnership with the local Head of Clinical Services, you'll ensure we're making best use of the phenomenal talents and resources at our disposal.

You will also be responsible for

  • Ensuring staff receive timely and regular communications and involved and engaged in the delivery of clinical services.
  • Ensure the continuous development of high quality, innovative care.
  • Support a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined and diverse workforce to work as a cohesive operational group delivering first class treatment to patients.
  • Support the integration of the clinical operations with those of the other Practice Plus Group centres, contributing to the enhancement of clinical standards generally across the group, and ensuring that the medical staff at the site maintain compliance with Practice Plus Group hospitals policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the business by identifying and responding to local population needs.
  • Provide medical opinion and advice to support business decision making.
  • Participate in strategic decision making as an integral member of the Senior Management Team working with the General Manager and local Head of Clinical Services.
  • Work collaboratively with other Hospital Medical Directors, Speciality Clinical Directors and Secondary Care Medical Director to ensure that Practice Plus Group and national objectives are met.
  • Attend and contribute to the regular organisational meetings with other Medical and Clinical Directors.
