Although, this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalize pre-employment checks. This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist with advanced skills and experience in acute inpatient services to join Newham university Hospital (NUH) Therapies leadership team on a 12-month fixed term or secondment opportunity.

You will provide clinical and site leadership to our SALT team and lead on the development of the team in line with service/trust objectives. You will organise Video Fluoroscopy clinics in conjunction with the radiology department, having specific responsibility for the operational management of our Video Fluoroscopy Swallow Clinic.

Strong leadership, interpersonal and team-working skills are essential as you will lead a growing SLT team providing line management and competency development to staff. You will be expected to lead on service development, quality improvement and implement teaching, training as well as provide supervision.

You will work as part of the NUH therapies leadership team with service wide responsibility for specified projects, so responding to and managing change effectively are essential skills required for this role.
