Job summaryWere looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join the team on our Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care Inpatient Ward at The Portland Hospital, currently rated Good by the CQC and the UKs only private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children. Its an exciting opportunity to join a team thats passionate about encouraging the development of their colleagues.
Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Staff Nurse working within our Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care Inpatient Wardyoull play a key role in the smooth operation of the department. Well look to you as an expert in your field to support and mentor the junior nurses, using your in-depth clinical knowledge to guide and support them while also stepping up and leading the unit the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse. Its a varied role. One day you could be implementing and evaluating holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team, the next participating in audits or quality improvement projects to continually improve the care we provide. - -Experience with tracheostomised patients is desirable.
- -Understanding of Safeguarding issues
- -Teaching and mentoring experience
- -Excellent written and verbal communication
- -Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
- -Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable
