An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join the Resuscitation Department as a Resuscitation Officer to cover maternity leave. There may be a possibility to extend the contract, and should a permanent vacancy become available, the successful applicant may be offered a substantive post in the future.

Previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer would be desirable.

You must be a UK registered qualified nurse with a recognised teaching qualificationanda current Resuscitation Council UK Instructor certificate for Advanced Life Support (or be on the Instructor pathway).
We would consider applicants looking for a development opportunity.

A European Paediatric Life Support or Advanced Paediatric Life Supportprovider or Instructor certificate is desirable.

Primarily this is a teaching role, and you will deliver adult and paediatric resuscitation training at a variety of levels to all Trust clinical staff and external clients. The post also involves undertaking defined projects related to the service (i.e., quality improvement projects) and attending Medical Emergency Team calls. This is a vital role for patient safety and for developing the knowledge and skills of all clinical staff.

You will be a UK registered qualified nurse with recent experience in an acute setting e.g., Intensive care, Coronary Care, Emergency Department or be working as a Resuscitation Officer.

This post requires excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organisational skills, together with an ability to be very self-motivated and also work as part of a team.

The applicant must have a thorough working knowledge of the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
