An exciting opportunity has arisen within the maternity department for a Governance Midwife to join our Risk, Governance and Education Team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS (SWBH) Trust with the focus on the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT).

The role will encompass working with a varied multi disciplinary team and completing the nationally recommended Perinatal mortality review tool in it's entirety . You will coordinate all actions and drive forward any necessary changes that arise from reviews to ensure that families receive high quality safe care.
The post holder will be the point of contact for PMRT for both professionals and families. Ensuring that we remain compliant with PMRT timescales, recommendations and service changes. Ensuring that staff are receiving training and are knowledgeable about PMRT and other external review bodies.
This role will require the post-holder to work at an operational and strategic level within the Perinatal Directorate to contribute towards the Perinatal service governance and risk management agenda. Activities will include writing reports, investigations and monitoring action plans with provision of evidence.
The aim of the role is to enhance the quality and safety of maternity care, showing leadership in Governance processes within the departments and achieve consistency in practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.
