The Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is seeking several Security Officers (Band 3) to ensure the safety of individuals and property within its facilities. The role involves maintaining security, deterring crime, and providing support to staff, patients, and visitors through a reassuring presence. Candidates must be well-presented, able to work in a dynamic team environment, and effectively manage both routine and emergency situations. Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, managing access control systems, and assisting in diffusing aggressive behavior, which may also require physical intervention when necessary.

The position operates on a shift pattern of four 12-hour shifts followed by four days off, with alternating day and night shifts. Successful candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate compassion and professionalism, and handle sensitive situations with empathy. Additionally, the role involves responsibilities related to car parking management and requires candidates to pass a computer literacy test during the interview process.
