Wiltshire Health and Care LLP is seeking a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join their community team in Chippenham, focusing on adults with learning disabilities. This permanent part-time position (22.5 hours per week) involves working with patients who have communication and swallowing difficulties, with an initial emphasis on communication issues and the development of dysphagia skills over time, supported by clinical supervision from experienced colleagues.

Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist (ALD Team)

Chippenham Community Hospital

22.5hrs per week - Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to become part of our community team working with adults with a learning disability (ALD). We are looking for an enthusiastic SLT who would like to gain experience in supporting patients with a range of communication and/or swallowing difficulties. This part time (22.5 hours per week) post offers the opportunity to work with an ALD caseload.

The role will focus initially on working with a wide range of communication difficulties. Development of dysphagia skills will also be an essential part of the role over time, with appropriate clinical supervision from specialist colleagues. Candidates with post-graduate dysphagia training would be supported with these skills.

The post holder should be keen to working collaboratively within a team, possess excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and develop.

We have a robust system of supervision and provide CPD opportunities throughout the year. Clinical supervision will be available from specialist colleagues in both the ALD and joint working practises are actively encouraged.
