We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Technicians to join our existing dedicated team, this is an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the medical device decontamination service. You will be required to complete all aspects of the training programme and develop competencies in all work areas which will contribute to a continually evolving decontamination service. The medical device decontamination service is key to the successful delivery of patient care within the hospital.
As a member of the team your core responsibilities includes the handling of surgical instruments through the decontamination process, from receipt, disinfecting, inspection, packing, sterilisation and despatch to the user departments. This will also include the collection, disinfection checking and transportation of flexible endoscopes.
All aspects of work must be carried out in full compliance with the requirements of IS0 13485:2Medical Devices.
Flexibility in this role is essential as shift rotation and weekend working will be required in order to meet future planned service expansions.
Previous experience with Sterile Services is desirable though full training will be provided to successful candidates.
This post progresses to a Band 3 on successful completion of competencies in all 3 work areas of the department.
