Support students at Northumbria University as an Academic Support Worker for Randstad Education in Newcastle upon Tyne. This part‑time, temporary post pays £12–£12.21 per hour plus holiday pay (pro rata) and offers flexible hours, opportunities to work remotely, and free e‑learning/CPD. It’s a practical, satisfying role for women and carers who need hours that fit around family and caring duties while making a real difference to a student’s academic life and confidence.

You will provide specialist notetaking for students with disabilities or mental‑health conditions: produce accurate, legible notes for lectures, seminars and group tasks; review and format notes after sessions; and arrive before lectures to ensure nothing is missed. You’ll be expected to maintain professional boundaries and work within university policies. Neat handwriting, good typing, accurate spelling and grammar, punctuality, reliability and strong organisation are essential; experience supporting students with specific learning difficulties or previous university study is desirable. Short assessments (telephone, typing test) and an interview form part of the selection.
