Great Lumley Surgery rLJmP4Az2
Job description
Play a central role as Administrator / Care Coordinator at Great Lumley Surgery in Chester‑le‑Street (DH3). This part‑time, permanent post (up to 32 hours per week) blends hands‑on patient contact with accurate clinical administration. You will code and summarise records on the EMIS Web clinical system, manage incoming correspondence and appointment diaries, answer patient enquiries in person and by phone, take precise meeting notes and distribute clinical documents. The role also involves signposting patients to the right services, supporting personalised care planning, working with the PCN to reduce health inequalities, and maintaining confidentiality and data quality in line with practice protocols. Experience of administrative duties, good IT skills, GCSE‑level English and maths (or equivalent), a calm, organised approach and a willingness to undertake mandatory training and DBS checks are essential; EMIS experience is desirable and full induction and ongoing development are provided.
This opportunity is ideal for compassionate, organised carers — particularly women seeking flexible, part‑time hours — who want to combine practical administration with people‑focused support in a friendly, semi‑rural practice that has been a training practice for over 25 years and serves around 5,200 patients. Great Lumley values teamwork, inclusion and staff development, offers mentorship, encourages continuous improvement and provides five weeks’ annual leave (pro rata). If you relish making care easier for patients and families while developing your skills in a supportive setting, please click the "Apply Now" button shown alongside this advert to apply.
