Job description
An opportunity has arisen within the Dietetics Service based at the Royal Derby Hospital for a part-time Band 3 Administrator, working 18 hours per week.
We are looking for someone to join our Admin team delivering an efficient and effective service to the Oncology Dietitians.
You will have a background in administration, effective written and verbal communication skills and good attention to detail. Keyboard skills and experience of using Microsoft Office packages including Word is essential.
You will possess good organisational skills, be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with a willingness to learn.

- To provide general administrative and clerical service including creating access plans, managing clinics, retrieving patient records, word processing, photocopying and scanning and audio typing.
- To act as the point of contact for patients and staff on behalf of the dietetic team ensuring that all queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.
- Audio typing and despatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS patients within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- To ensure that urgent correspondence is brought to the immediate attention of the relevant team member.
- Accurately informing patients/clinicians of outcomes and information to influence the effective service delivery for all patients including waiting list queries.
- Support management in the preparation and validation of the waiting lists and performance data in the team leader’s absence.
- To escalate any urgent problems to a senior manager.
- Provide secretarial support/cover for colleagues during absence.
- Undertake necessary training as and when required by the Trust.
