Job description
There has never been a more exciting time to join our Trust. Major redevelopment works on both sites at our Birmingham Children's Hospital and Birmingham Women's Hospital are planned for completion in 2025. Our trust has been rated Good by the CQC and is world renowned for our care.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, based at our Women's hospital, is a leading Perinatal Centre and one of the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the UK. We are the designated Neonatal Surgical Centre for West Midlands Operational Delivery Network and accept in-utero and post-natal transfers from throughout the West Midlands. We deliver outstanding care to some of the West Midlands sickest babies from 22 weeks gestation. As well as caring for new born babies with surgical conditions we also care for sick and premature new born babies with medical conditions and babies born with congenital abnormalities such as diaphragmatic hernia and cardiac lesions. We are host to the West Midlands Human Milk Bank and we serve a maternity department delivering 8,300 babies per annum.
We are looking for an experienced clinical professional to join for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS FT. We have excellent professional development opportunities and offer a family friendly environment for our local community and region.
Successful applicants will have responsibility for delivering and supervising direct care to intensive, high dependency, special care babies and transitional care and their families and will work within the neonatal team to ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained. The post holder will need to be adaptable, flexible and able to work the full range of clinical shifts over the 24 hour period.
You must hold an MSc in Advanced Practice and be able to work on the senior junior medical rota. While successful candidates will be based at our Women's Hospital there may be occasions where there is a need for working in the transport environment or at our Children's Hospital site.
