Job description
Make a meaningful difference to people at critical moments in the criminal justice system as an Advanced Support Time Recovery (STR) Worker (Band 5) with Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, based in Basingstoke (RG21) and working across Hampshire. You will deliver triage and screening in police custody suites and occasionally courts, support custody practitioners, escalate acute or complex needs for further assessment, and provide clinical advice to the wider STR workforce. The role may include a small caseload of complex service users (for example drug and alcohol needs), so strong time‑management and the ability to work independently are essential. This is a permanent, full‑time post (Agenda for Change Band 5, £31,049–£37,796), with staff parking provided and a flexible roster to meet locality and custody demands.
This post is ideal for compassionate health or social care professionals with a degree or equivalent qualification and relevant experience, who are committed to improving health outcomes and reducing reoffending. You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, and the role requires police vetting (minimum three years UK residency) and Disclosure checks. Berkshire Healthcare is rated Outstanding by the CQC and its Liaison & Diversion service is award‑winning; the Trust offers a people‑centred, inclusive culture with flexible working, 27 days’ annual leave rising with service, NHS pension, career development, generous parental and special leave, wellbeing support and staff networks including Carer Confident accreditation. If this practical, values‑driven opportunity suits you, find the full vacancy on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button to submit your application.
