Do you have a background in healthcare or patient transport? Westron Care Ltd is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Ambulance Care Assistants/Drivers. Role Overview The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant/Driver involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. This is a responsible role that requires a professional and caring attitude, as well as teamwork. Key Responsibilities: • Transport patients to and from hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities, ensuring they are safe and well cared for. • Work as a single or double crew, responsible for either driving the ambulance or supporting the traveling patient. • Utilize carry chairs, stair climbers, wheelchairs, stretchers, and scoops as needed. • Ensure patients have a safe, smooth journey, complying with all relevant traffic legislation and driving with consideration for other road users. • Maintain the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition. • Treat all patients with dignity and respect in communications and actions, particularly considering cultural differences and disabilities, in line with company policy. • Ensure the safe handover of patients to/from clinical settings, ensuring clear and concise communication with relevant personnel. • Accurately complete all appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies and submit within required timeframes. • Record all journey information, including any deterioration in the patient's health, accidents, incidents, or any other required documentation. • Maintain flexibility in attitude to meet the constantly changing nature of care and service delivery. • Undertake required learning and ensure that this is put into practice; maintain personal CPD via our online training portal every 12 months. Essential Requirements: • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within healthcare or patient transport. • Clean driving license for over 3 years with no more than 3 endorsement points. • Valid First Aid at Work certificate as a minimum, or FREC 3 Qualification or Ambulance Care Assistant Certificate (in date). • Clean Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to undertake one. • Minimum of 25 years old for insurance purposes. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. • A flexible, approachable, calm, enthusiastic, honest, and integrity-driven attitude. • Good level of English (spoken and written). • High level of physical fitness is essential, as the role includes manual handling and patient support. • Willingness to work weekends as required.
