Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our General Practice team as an Assistant Practice Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership, administrative, and communication skills to support the smooth and efficient running of our busy GP practice. Working closely with the Practice Manager and wider clinical and administrative teams, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations and in the delivery of high-quality patient services.The successful candidate will assist in overseeing key aspects of practice management, including staff supervision, patient services, rota coordination, complaints handling, and ensuring compliance with NHS policies and CQC standards. You will be involved in supporting HR processes such as recruitment, induction, and training, as well as assisting with performance reviews and staff wellbeing initiatives. The role also includes involvement in managing premises, IT systems, information governance, and supporting the preparation of reports, audits, and business planning activities.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment needed.
Experience
in a healthcare or primary care setting is desirable, along with a working knowledge of clinical systems such as Emis Web and NHS processes. A proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong sense of accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
