Job description
Assistant Practitioner – Children’s Physiotherapy at Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (Peacock Centre, Brookfields Hospital, Cambridge CB1). Permanent Band 4 role, salary £27,485–£30,162 pro rata. You’ll deliver specialist community physiotherapy for babies, children and young people (0–19) with neurodevelopmental conditions across Cambridgeshire—working in clinics, specialist and mainstream schools, nurseries, children’s centres and family homes. The postholder manages a delegated caseload, carries out routine assessments and standardised outcome measures (for example CPIP), plans and leads small-group and one-to-one intervention blocks, and supports discharge planning. You’ll assess and support safe use of equipment, contribute to clinic preparation and equipment logistics, deliver pre-prepared training for parents and professionals, and communicate clearly with colleagues and families. The role involves lone working and county-wide travel, digital record-keeping (SystmOne, Physiotools, Teams, Excel) and a strong safeguarding responsibility.
This vacancy suits organised, compassionate people who enjoy working with children and families and want to develop clinical skills within a supportive, learning-focused service. Applicants should hold relevant Level 3 qualifications (or Foundation Degree/level 5 apprenticeship desirable), GCSEs or equivalents in English and Maths, and substantial experience in health or care settings supporting children with physical or learning disabilities. The Trust is rated Outstanding by the CQC and offers a robust in‑service training programme, a friendly administrative team and flexible working (full-time 37.5 hours; part-time from 30 hours considered; core service day Tuesday). A DBS check is required and the Trust welcomes applicants who need Skilled Worker sponsorship.
