Job description
As an Assistant Psychologist at Cygnet Health Care you will be based at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone, a 63‑bed mental health centre on the Kent Medical Campus, working on Roseacre Ward – a 16‑bed personality disorder service for women. This full‑time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, typically 9am–5pm) offers a salary of £28,612 and the chance to support women to manage their mental health, build coping strategies, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent living. Day‑to‑day you will assist the Qualified Psychologist with assessments, scoring and reporting, clinical formulation and care‑plan implementation, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of individual and group programmes; the role also includes administration, audit, research and service development. Applicants should hold a degree in Psychology (2:1 or above/BPS‑accredited preferred), ideally have experience in healthcare or as an Assistant Psychologist, and be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Cygnet emphasises career development and hands‑on learning: expect clinical supervision, peer support, internal and external CPD, and opportunities to get involved in research and service improvement. The package includes a company pension, employee assistance programme, shopping and leisure discounts, and many sites offer free meals on shift — benefits that make a real difference to work–life balance for carers. If you’re a compassionate, learning‑focused practitioner looking to make tangible improvements in women’s lives within a supportive multidisciplinary team, find this role on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button to start your application.
