Assistant Service Manager – Complex & Academic Medicine at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, RLH Mount Vernon Street, Liverpool L7 8YE. This permanent, full‑time Band 7 role (£47,810–£54,710) is open to current employees of the five LAASP partner organisations and offers hands‑on operational leadership across Respiratory and Infectious Diseases within the CAM care group. You will manage administration teams, monitor national and local KPIs, oversee day‑to‑day operational processes, support budgets and CIP workstreams, and deputise for the General Service Manager. The post requires strong organisational skills for bed management, business reporting and rapid problem solving while working closely with consultants, senior nurses and allied health professionals to maintain clinical standards and improve patient outcomes.
This role suits experienced health service professionals with degree‑level or equivalent qualifications and postgraduate management experience — or demonstrable equivalent. You’ll gain exposure to a large academic portfolio (100+ ongoing studies) and close links with the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, ideal for those who want clinical leadership alongside research involvement. The Trust is part of a large regional group committed to staff development and NHS values; DBS checks apply and skilled worker sponsorship applications are considered.
